Create a Discussion
You can use the Create button located at the top of every page to create discussions, post status updates, and send direct messages.
To create a discussion click Discussion from the menu that appears.
You will then be prompted to select the area that the discussion should be placed in. You can either type the name of the product in the search box, make the discussion private (between you and other selected community members), or click the "Browse for more places" link to navigate to the appropriate area.
If you choose Browse more places you will be prompted with the screen below. You need to click the Spaces drop down box followed by the "Sub-spaces" under the product you want to post a discussion on.
Areas that you are allowed to post in are shown in color (not grayed out). Click the appropriate product series area from the list.
Create a Status Update
To update your status click the Create button at the top of the page and select Status Update.
In the new window enter your status update and click the Post button. You can use at mentions with the button or simply typing @ followed by the name of a person, area of the community, or name of a discussion/document. You can also include a picture by clicking the corresponding button.
After posting your status update it will appear on your profile page as well as the pop-up window when users hover the mouse over your name wherever it appears in the community.
Create a Direct Message
You can also send a Direct Message by clicking the Direct Message link in the menu.
