2 Calls per One Actual Call on VQM

Jump to solution

We just deployed a 3120 for a client. For some reason the VQM is showing to active calls when there is only one? Does anyone know why? The calls look identical.

If both legs are RTP such as an IP phone to an external SIP trunk you will see two calls in VQM.  One is analyzing the received stream from the phone and the other from the SIP trunk.  The calls will be identical in terms of numbers, time, and duration but the source IP information and possibly the call quality will be different.

This can be very useful in determining if an issue causing degradation is on the LAN or WAN side of things.

- Thanks for posting your question on the forum!

Could you post a screenshot of what you are seeing to this thread? Remember to edit out any sensitive information.

Also, when you are seeing the active calls in the GUI, what are you seeing in the CLI? The command to output that information is "show ip rtp quality-monitoring active-calls" from enable mode. Also, which firmware are you currently running on your device?

Please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Noor

I believe it is because we have two VLANs one for the private and one for the public, and the voice is going from the private to the public. Would that make two call records show up for one call?
