3430 Not Recognizing dual T1 card

Jump to solution

I am having a problem in which my 3430's often aren't recognizing dual T1 card that we are plugging into them.  The cards do work, I have tested it out on other 3430's but I have three routers that when the cards are plugged in won't see the interfaces but will detect that the cards are plugged in.

What is the best way to get the 3430's to recognize the T1 interfaces on the cards?

It sounds like you may be using a 2nd Gen Dual T1 NIM (P/N# 1202872L1). If this is the case, check what firmware you are running on the chassis. This NIM requires AOS 17.09.01 or later on the chassis to be recognized.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thanks,

Noor

Thanks for the idea Noor, it was wrong firmware on the affected AdTran's that was preventing it from being able to recognize/load the cards properly.  It was recognizing that there was something plugged in but wasn't able to do anything with them.  I upgraded to the latest firmware and that fixed the issue.

So much for listening to Verizon's reps saying they were perfectly setup after charging us to set them up and testing them.  Go Verizon.
