unable to receive an incoming call

I am unable to receive incoming video calls over ISDN BRI connected to an Adtran ISU 512

1 Line starts to connect and never finishes the connections and the call times out

all SPIDS are set correctly in the Adtran

Thank you for using the ADTRAN Support Forum.

What you describe could be a configuration issue in the ATLAS or even a configuration issue in the ISU 512.

You say you are not able to receive inbound calls, but do outbound calls work? If outbound calls work, then there is not an issue with the lines, i.e. not an issue with errors, etc.

Does each BRI have 2 LDNs and 2 SPIDs, or is it using 1 LDN per BRI but changing the TID (trailing identifier) so there are 2 SPIDs, or is it 1 LDN across all 4 BRI lines, and changing the TID so each SPID is unique? Any of these methods is fine, as long as both the ATLAS and the ISDU 512 are configured with the correct LDNs and SPIDs. The ATLAS needs the appropriate IN#ACCEPT configured as well in order to route the inbound calls, and the ISU 512 needs the correct LDNs configured (Config > Network Option > Dial Line > Terminal ID) because these are what's used during the BONDING negotiation in order to tell the dialing device what numbers to dial for the additional channels (either dial the same number repeatedly or dial "these other numbers").

On an inbound call, can you tell if the originating site dials the additional channels, and if so what number it dials for each channel? Does the ATLAS show inbound calls for the additional channels? (ISDN EVENTS set to INFO should show this in the ATLAS.)

Those are some items to look at to help narrow down the problem.

I checked the LDN's and they were specified but were not in the same order as the SPID's so I re-configure the LDN setting to match SPIDs, Do you know if the LDN's need to be full number or will local number work

for example 619.435.0112 vice 435.0012

In the ISU, as long as the area code and the exchange are the same, it doesn't matter whether you use 10 digits, 7 digits, or even 4 digits. The ISU actually sends the "difference" or the "change". So if the same number is listed 8 times it simply tells the originating device to keep dialing the same number. If the last digit is all that changes, then that is the information sent to the originating side. So there really is no need to put a 10-digit number in the LDN, but it doesn't hurt anything either. Usually either a 7-digit number or 4-digit number is used.
