Thank you for asking this question in the support community.  There is a freeware VPN client that works well with Apple.  It is called Shrew Soft (Shrew Soft Inc : Home).  ADTRAN has a guide on how to setup a VPN using the Shrew Soft client called Configuring the Shrew Soft VPN Client for AOS.

Please, let me know if you have any questions.  I will be happy to help in any way I can.

Here are some additional clients for Macintosh:

Note:  Based on customer feedback, VPN Tracker does not reassign an IP address to the client machine, however it does establish a connection.

Umm… that Shrew configuration guide is for PCs.  If Shrew ever made a Mac version, it doesn't seem to be offering it any longer.  NCP does seem to work (see below).

I got into this because my client gave me a Netvanta profile file and told me to download that software.  That does work on a PC but left me searching for a Mac client.

Apparently IPSecuritas does not work with Adtran.  'Just spent most of the day copying profile details to IPSecuritas but it won't get past "deleting phase1 handle" warnings.  Has anyone got that to work?

Adtran is not listed on the VPN Tracker's list of compatible hardware.  Has anyone gotten that to work?

NCP also does not list Adtran as compatible hardware.  However the screen shots looked very similar to the Adtran Netvanta PC software.  (It appears that Adtran is reselling the NCP client as their own Netvanta.)  'Found that the Netvanta PC version's set up info transposes well into the Mac version's NCP Secure Entry Client.  My Mac is able to connect and maintain a useful connection.

It only just occurred to me that I could have tried importing the PC profile file instead of manually entering the set up info.  Maybe someone else can benefit from this idea.
