Re: Problem with Throttle errors on NV3458

@dorrea - Throttles occur when the code does not handle the incoming data rate and proactively drop cells. AOS will start to throttle the interface if the total data input rate exceeds a preset limit. In this case, it appears the throttles are being caused by the CPU maxing out.

What needs to be determined is what is causing the CPU to max out. A good first thing to look at would be your configuration. Based on the CPU output you provided, it appears packet routing is what is spiking when the CPU reaches 100 %. This usually points to large bursts of traffic attempting to pass through the router at one time. It may also be good to see the output to "show interface" of your LAN interfaces. You will want to confirm that all interfaces are negotiating to the appropriate speed and duplex on the 3458, as well.

At what level would you say the CPU is consistently operating at? How often does it max out?

I'd be more than happy to review your configuration and "show interface" output if you post it to this thread. Please keep in mind to remove any information that may be sensitive to your network.

Thanks,

Noor

Re: Problem with Throttle errors on NV3458

Dear Noor,

The CPU has never passed the 50%, until yesterday, it has periods of 100% for almost 6 hours, according to your suggestions my config file and the output of the interfaces.

Re: Problem with Throttle errors on NV3458

@dcorrea - Could you post the the VPN selector ACLs as well? I noticed they were missing from the configuration file you provided. Also, could you provide the output to "show ip policy-stat"?

Thanks,

Noor
