Adtran 706/712 Speed Dial Buttons

Jump to solution

I have a client that has 40 706 phones and 25 712 phones.  They would like the same speed dial buttons on each series of phones.  Is there a faster way to create the speed dial buttons instead of going to each individual phone in IP Phone Config??

Unfortunately, here isn't a way to apply it to every phone without touching every phone in the IP Phone Configs page.

There is a way but it may not be supported.

Use Status groups, if you want to dial a pstn number create a virtual user account 9nxxnxxxxxx and you will see it in the user list to assign.

You still have to assign the status group to every phone config but it would be easier to update once it is assigned to the sets.

I went ahead and flagged this post as "Assumed Answered". If any of the responses on this thread assisted you, please mark them as Correct or Helpful as the case may be with the applicable buttons. If you still need assistance, we would be more than happy to continue working with you on this - just let us know in a reply.

I also wanted to add a note that another option may be to define numbers on the Voice > System Setup > System Speed Dial page of the web interface.  Users could access these by dialing the SPRE *25nn where nn=the system speed dial entry.  For example if speed dial number 1 was setup to be 2565551111 anyone could dial that number via the SPRE code *2501 from their phone, assuming their class of service allowed it.  The normal_users class of service allows system speed dials by default.

Thanks,
Matt

Matt

I don't know if you are still around on this board or if someone else has taken over.  I am having issues with getting the speed dial buttons to program though the phone specific SIP configuration file (Adtran_xxxxxxxxxxxx.txt).  Most of the variables set but I am either missing something on the Speed Dial buttons or have some setting conflicting with the phone accepting and mapping speed dials to the Line Key Buttons.  Line configuration appears but I have tried a variety of settings to get the speed dial options to insert. The example configuration file is clear on 2 items, suggesting that no button information is included. This is not working on my 706.  None of the lines are getting included into the configuration to show on the phone or through the web interface.

Suggestions?
