Voicemail not working on 7100 (resolved)

Jump to solution

The original vendor that sold the NV 7100 to us is out of the picture, I've been able to troubleshot/fix/configure everything that's come along, but this one has me stumped.

Voicemail has stopped working. Almost like it's missing from the system. No known configuration changes were made between when it was working and when it stopped.

If you dial *98 from any extension the "call cannot be completed" (tone only) immediately repeats twice and then disconnects. The same behavior when calling 8500 or 8504 (voicemail extensions)

If you dial any extension it rings the correct number of times then when call coverage sends it to voicemail you get a normal busy signal. (As if send to voicemail wasn't in the CC at all.)

Oddly, some users report that it only rings twice before going busy instead of the number of rings defined in cc, but I have not been able to replicate that.

If I uncheck the "Internal Voicemail" box in Voicemail Settings and save... Then calling *98 rings twice then the full "I'm sorry this call cannot be completed as dialed" message.

Dialing an extension and getting transferred to voicemail after x rings yields a "I'm sorry you must first dial a 1 or 0 when dialing this number."

Rechecking the Internal Voicemail box brings things back to the original symptoms.

A couple of system reboots later and the symptoms still persist.

I can read/delete voicemail messages via FTP, so I'm fairly sure the Compact Flash card is still good.

The Voicemail Status correctly shows the number of voicemails each extension has. If I manually delete messages, the correct count is updated on reboot.

Any help or direction would be appreciated.

Thanks for updating the post.  Can you reply to the thread and state that a firmware upgrade resolved the issue and then select your new reply as the Correct Answer with the button that appears?  That will flag this thread properly as answered.  If you see this issue happen again we would need to see the current configuration and the output from a debug voice verbose and debug sip stack messages while recreating the issue to see what is happening.

Thanks,

Matt

As an FYI, there seems to be compatibility issues with IE10 and the forum. The reply doesn’t work, “correct answer” button missing, etc.

Thanks for updating the post.  For the IE 10 issue we are aware of it.  See this post for a work around:
