Busy/invalid tone heard when dialing the first digit of a desired party 3 digits extension for internal call

Jump to solution

Hi Support team,

We have 7100 with  Polycom IP phones. After offhook from a polycom sip phone IP335, a busy/invalid tone was immediately received when dialing the first digit of a desired party 3 digits extension for internal call. However, if i press the 3 digits extension  before "Dial" button or "Speaker" button, the call is able to ring through.

I’ve uploaded a copy of SIP stack and voice debug.  They are named  (Busy or Invalid tone)  Any help you can provide is appreciated.  Thanks.

mohd,

Thank you for supplying the configuration and debug.  The debug showed the phone is sending an INVITE to the number 3, which is not a valid number.  The call is being routed from the phone prematurely most likely due to its dial plan.  Does this happen for multiple phones or just this one IP 335? It may be quickest just to delete and rebuild this phone within the NetVanta 7100 accompanied with a factory default of the phone to see if that resolves the issue.  You can default it by holding down 1,3,5,and 7 on the keypad while it boots up and then entering the password 456 when prompted.  If that does not work or if you want to troubleshoot the configuration of the phone, you should check the phone dial plan by going to Voice > IP Phone Configs > select extension > click Edit > Phone Settings tab > expand Dial Strings and looking for any suspect entries.  If you can post screenshots of the entries or supply the phone configuration files containing the MAC address of this phone from the Polycom folder on cflash, I would be happy to look at them.

Thanks,
Matt
