How do I turn a port on then off

How do I turn a port off then back on via the CLI ?  I have done this before but cannot remember ?  I am working a Netvanta 1238.

Thank you for posting this question in the Support Community.  To disable and re-enable a switchport on the NetVanta 1238 you will issue the shutdown followed by the no shutdown commands.  For example:

ROUTER-NAME# configure terminal

ROUTER-NAME(config)# interface switchport 0/1

ROUTER-NAME(config-swx 0/1)# shutdown

ROUTER-NAME(config-swx 0/1)# no shutdown
