Was the rest of the default configuration in place, and just the IP address was changed? If so, I have no idea how this IP address could have been altered. To answer your question, the factory default IP address shipped from ADTRAN should be 10.10.10.1 /24.

I had the same problem.
It has recently come to our attention that a batch of NetVanta 3448s and NetVanta 3458s were shipped from ADTRAN with an incorrect default IP address. The default IP address should have been 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0, but instead, it was improperly configured as 10.10.100.1 255.255.255.0.
The AOS unit is fully functional; however, due to the misconfigured default IP address, you may experience issues logging into the device for initial setup. If you login to the unit via a CONSOLE connection, then there are no changes necessary, but if you login to the unit via HTTP, TELNET, or SSH, then you will need to use the IP address 10.10.100.1 255.255.255.0 to access the unit.

This problem may occur in a small percentage of NetVanta 3448 and NetVanta 3458 Routers. Based on the failures analyzed to date, the following serial number range may include affected units.

RESOLUTION / RECOMMENDATIONS
This issue can be resolved one of two ways:
- By logging into the unit via a CONSOLE connection for initial setup.
- By logging into the unit via HTTP, TELNET, or SSH, and using the IP address 10.10.100.1 255.255.255.0 to access the unit.
