    event logs stored on vWLAN

      Hello,

I have read in the documentation that the maximum number of event logs that the vWLAN is able to store for a domain is 200.000.

Here in Spain, by law, service providers must keep a log history of users activities for a period of time. Do you know,  to how many days is equivalent this 200.000 log records? I know this will depend on number of users connected, etc, but do you have a rule of thumb to approximately calculate the period of time that users logging information is stored in the vWLAN? Is there any way to increase this number of records ( assigning more memory to the Virtual Machine for example)?

Which is the log info stored for a user? When he logs in and logs out, number of bytes consumed, but also session information like connected destination IP, TCP/UDP port, etc?

      Regards,

We do not have a general rule of thumb.  This is totally dependent on the amount of users, user connects/disconnects, roaming events, etc.  If you need to keep additional logging, I would highly suggest setting up a syslog server and syslog notifications on the vWLAN.  Syslog is used for managing the vWLAN system by aiding in the creation of generalized informational, analysis, or debug messages. Syslog functions so that the data can be reported by vWLAN, stored locally at vWLAN or an external syslog server, and analyzed later.  For more on creating Syslog notifications, please refer to page 206 in the Bluesocket vWLAN Administrator's Guide

The logs stored per user can be found under Configuration > Notifications > Info Messages > Domain.  Below are the logs related to users:
