    Wrong Flash Update on MX2800

    skb007 New Member

      I have done a stupid thing. I flashed MX2800 with flash of MX2800 M13.

My original flash version was 320a then I flashed it to 342a. After flashing it with 342a I don't see DS2 configuration option. I have tried to flash it back with 320a, flashing process does not show any error and it says done but I still see the flash version as 342a.

I am not sure If I need do following a particular procedure to downgrade it from 342a to 320a.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I would like to mention that I have rebooted the unit after flashing it back to 320a. I have noticed that for few minutes controller A shows 320a and controller shows 342a and If I disconnect telnet session and start it again then both controller shows 342a.

          1. I have tried downloading fresh copy of 320a file from adtran website.
          2. I have tried to load 320a file on a different tftp server.
          3. I have tried swapping the controller cards with in MX2800 chasis.

            skb007,

You didn't do anything wrong 3.42A is latest released software for MX2800 Controller Modules and it has been deployed for the past 5 years.  If the Controller Module's P/N 1202288L1 or greater the unit will display the DS2 options.  If the Controller Module's P/N 1200288L1 or 1201288L1 the DS2 options will not display because the hardware on the Controller Module never supported DS2 option feature.
